Leader of Connected Car Initiatives, TomTom
George, a graduate in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering, started his career at CGI managing complex IT infrastructure projects.
He joined TomTom in 2006, undertaking a variety of roles and projects, applying his knowledge in helping develop and market accurate real time and historical traffic solutions and live maps.
Having been named International Alliance Manager in 2013, George set up TomTom Telematics’ partner eco-system – currently the largest in the industry – supporting integration with the TomTom Telematics open platform and encouraging joint commercial activities.
Since becoming Leader of Connected Car Initiatives in 2016, George has been responsible for managing and marketing the innovation around the TomTom Telematics Services Platform. This is increasingly being used as a Connected Car platform, bringing data from different vehicle sources together and enabling associated industries (such as leasing and rental companies, insurers and car importers and dealer groups) to build bespoke applications which enhance the overall driving experience while improving efficiency.
As one of Europe’s leading experts in the technology, he talks about the genuinely game-changing new opportunities for Connected Car services with equal amounts of insight and enthusiasm.
“With our open platform we are creating exciting opportunities for our customers and partners to launch uniquely integrated products. This is a pivotal era to be involved in the telematics industry. As we help forge the future of connected vehicle technology, I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of innovation even further.”
